The Dohnavur Fellowship plans to implement the "Women Economic Empowerment Project" targeting vulnerable women in Tamil Nadu, which aims to combat the lack of confidence, skills and economic participation among socially isolated women.
Focusing on all districts in Tamil Nadu, with future expansion plans, the project will provide support through a Short-Stay Home for 30 women affected by domestic violence and also provide care & protection with a pro-life approach during unintended pregnancy. The
key objectives include psychological counseling, quality healthcare, skill development for employment, access to social safety net programs, enterprise development, and financial aid for livelihood activities.
This project aims to help young women, through a Short Stay Home for the socially vulnerable, offering tailored support for sustainable livelihoods & utilizing a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion approach. Linkages with banks and government departments will be facilitated, along with partnerships with skill-training institutes and financial institutions
